Testimonials

My family is profoundly grateful for the welcoming, warm, and safe atmosphere at Sunnymere which has made a very difficult transition a tremendously less painful process for our mother. The intentionally personal and deliberately professional demeanor of each level of staff has made my mother feel overwhelmingly welcomed, safe and at home. As a matter of fact she describes her experience as being in college and her living quarters as her dorm. Sunnymere has become a place that our mother loves.

Where we should spend those golden years is a baffling question for many of us seniors. We don't want to be a burden to our children. We don't want to lose our independence. In my nineties, I stumbled onto Sunnymere, a charming home built to accommodate 48 seniors. Here I'm enjoying three tasty meals every day, quiet, peaceful hours for reading, and a choice of varied activities; card games, exercise, Bible study, movies, and Bingo. How fortunate and blessed I am, to be here for my golden years. Surely the good Lord had a hand in bringing me to Sunnymere.

I had never heard of Sunnymere, but my son-in-law went on line and found it. My daughter and I came for a tour and everyone was very nice and the place was very clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming and it seemed more like a home. You can make friends and have things to do. The food is very good, too. If you are ever not feeling well, the staff provides wonderful care and are very helpful and take good care of you. I like living here.

When my 80 year old mother needed a more personal facility we were fortunate to have Sunnymere recommended to us. Prior to coming to Sunnymere my mother was staying at another senior living center but was very unhappy there. Sunnymere is a godsend that has allowed her to enjoy her senior years in a caring and safe environment. After becoming a widow my mother tried staying at several senior centers but was never happy at them. Once she came to Sunnymere all of that changed. The caring staff and great facilities made my mother want to live again. In fact, she broke her hip when she was 82 and developed complications requiring a feeding tube. The doctors held little hope that she would be able to return to any facility other than a nursing home. My mother would hear none of that; she wanted to go home to Sunnymere. She surprised everyone by making fantastic progress and when she returned “home” the Sunnymere staff went out of their way to get her adjusted back into the Sunnymere community. My mother is now 88 years old and enjoys occasional outings to our house to see us and her great great granddaughter, but after a while she always asks us to take her back to Sunnymere. For my mother there is no place like home and home is Sunnymere.
